Channel Nine reporters welcome first child together

Channel Nine news reporters Jerrie Demasi and Michael Genovese have welcomed a baby girl into the world. 

Jerrie took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the exciting news, before revealing their newborn daughter’s name.

‘The best day of our lives,’ she wrote alongside a gallery of images.

‘Welcome my baby girl. Tommie Genovese. Born 04/08 at a teeny 2.6kg.’ 

In one image, Jerrie is seen tenderly holding her bundle of joy in a hospital bed.

In another, dad Michael is seen beaming as he cradles the tot in blue scrubs.

Demasi told WAtoday that Tommie arrived two weeks early and required a caesarean section, which was ‘quite traumatising’.

However, the duo are overjoyed to be parents.

‘Obviously babies are born all the time, but when it’s your baby it just feels so special,’ Michael told the outlet. ‘It’s an incredible feeling’.
